It is with great pleasure that we congratulate our Musical Director Tony DeRosa and his quartet Main Street on their win of the Barbershop Harmony Society's 2017 International Quartet Contest! Main Street has been delighting audiences for the last seven years with dazzling performances that uniquely blend a mix of the very best of the barbershop sound, comedy, a little soft shoe and signature boater hats and taps. Main Street reinvents the sentimental history of barbershop with modern interpretation and style. And, these guys share a history as real life Disney Dapper Dans, with Tony still that group's musical director (in addition to the Disney Voices of Liberty, various Disney musical projects, and the a capella sensation, Voctave). This win comes on the 25th anniversary of his first championship quartet, Keepsake, who was honored by the Association of International Champions this year, and the tenth anniversary of his championship quartet, Max Q. Four gold medals in all, two on baritone, and the most recent two on lead, Tony is one of two men to hold this unique distinction. The other is Joe Connelly (former director of Toast of Tampa), who was the lead singer to Tony's baritone in Keepsake and Platinum. On behalf of our membership and families, we are beyond proud of our incredibly talented director. His leadership and talents inspire us to levels of excellence that we have only dreamed of before. He is truly the heart and soul of our Toast of Tampa family. Tony, we congratulate you on this achievement and thank you, on behalf of all who love barbershop, for the tireless work you do to raise the art form to ever higher levels. We are honored to be a part of your legacy!
