About the Toast of Tampa Show Chorus

Named “Best in the World” at the 1993 Sweet Adelines International Competition, Toast Of Tampa reigned victorious by defeating 25 other regional champion choruses from around the globe, and earned the highest honor in women's barbershop singing—the 1994 International Sweet Adelines Chorus Champions.

Each year the chorus brings their talents to the Tampa Bay Performing Art Center with a blend of old and new repertoire to the delight of their Tampa Bay audience. Guests quartets from both Sweet Adelines International and SPEBSQSA (Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America) always leave the audience wanting more! The Toast Of Tampa Show Chorus lights up the stage with its unique brand of spine-tingling harmony, flashy costumes and energized choreography.

Throughout its twenty year history, the Toast of Tampa has won the right to represent Region 9 at International Competition eight times. In October 2007 in Calgary, the Toast Of Tampa Show Chorus once again wowed the International audience, this time with their colorful, fun and high energy Music Man show package, winning the 6th Place Sweet Adelines International medal. We were also honored by being named the Most Entertaining Chorus during the International Chorus Finals.

These 135 women have performed for thousands, performed with Skitch Henderson (twice) and the Florida Pops, as well as for conventions, corporate functions and many other special events. Toast Of Tampa members come from all ages and all walks of life. Doctors, nurses, teachers, lawyers, accountants, homemakers and other business professionals volunteer their time and talent. Some have musical education and training, many do not. Friendship and the love of singing is the common bond.
